Is Polished Concrete Slippery?

This is one of most common questions concerning polished concrete. It's beautiful finish gives most prospective clients the wrong idea. We're here to help clear things up.

When polished concrete is kept clean and dry, they are typically no slicker than regular concrete surfaces. And they tend to be less slippery than waxed linoleum or polished marble. It's comparable to the garage floor in your home.

With that being said, there are a few public facilities that want to provide a little extra protection against slip and fall accidents, so the polished concrete floor can be treated with anti-slip conditioners. These products contain special additives designed to improve traction and make wet surfaces safer. They must be reapplied periodically, but they can simply be mopped on during routine cleaning.
